We are Streets of Hope

Streets of Hope was founded in 2019 by Yemisrach (Meya), who was trafficked by an adoption agency from Ethiopia. Her lifelong passion has been to return to Ethiopia to reach vulnerable children and their families in the community she came from. Her approach is holistic—teaching the Word of God while also meeting practical needs.

Yemisrach (Meya)

Co Founder

Yemisrach (Meya) was born in Southern Ethiopia in the small city of Sodo. As a child she attended church with her family, where her mother led prayer meetings, and her father served as an elder. Church was a big part of her family’s life. Even as a child she remembers wondering why there was so much poverty in her country, sparking a desire to help.

When she was adopted in the U.S. as a teenager, she never lost the desire to help the children of Ethiopia. Meya spent six years working with Metro World Child in Brooklyn, NY. In 2019, she moved to Ethiopia to fulfill a lifelong dream.

Bruno Auberson

Co Founder

Bruno Auberson was born and raised in Switzerland in a small village called Bavois. At age 15 he had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to West Africa. That experience left him with the desire to be involved in ministry to Africa…

Bruno has spent time in five  different African countries pursuing what God has put on his heart. He also spent four years in Brooklyn NY working with Metro World Child. While working with Meya his interest shifted to Ethiopia.
